Stories about home and life in different parts of Glebe.

Alison and Ted moved to Glebe in 1972. At that time Glebe was threatened by a freeway proposal.

Denis and also Emily moved to Glebe later, in the late 1980s.

Over time, Ted and Alison moved closer to the centre of Glebe. Denis has also moved recently. There are plans for Emily’s home to be redeveloped.

Fig St Fiasco (1974), an early video work by Tom Zubrycki, records protests in nearby Fig Street, Ultimo about the building of the Western Distributor. This video gives an idea about the anti-freeway protests of the time.
